For any ecommerce or service brands looking to target the lucrative parent demographic, parent bloggers are your biggest ally when it comes to getting coverage that generates ROI.
Although these copy writing mums and dads can help get you some great exposure and send a drove of high quality traffic to your website, you need to approach them in the right way to get results.

Researching the people you want to contact is important. The last thing you want is to spam every parent blogger in the UK and becoming a nuisance.
Get to know what topics they blog about and whether your brand is relevant. Are they open to being contacted? Does their site’s metrics – i.e. traffic, demographics, domain authority – meet your requirements?
2. It’s Not All About The Size
Take into consideration a blogger’s site and social following, but don’t discount smaller parenting bloggers.
It’s more about the community they’ve formed and whether their followers are genuinely influenced by reviews, product suggestions and advice, as that is what’s more likely to produce conversions!
3. Build Relationships
Take the time to get to know them individually. Follow them on Twitter, read their blog posts, understand their personal writing style, etc. You’ll soon get to know how they prefer to work.
4. Strike A Balance
It’s all about finding that perfect balance between being too clinical and becoming over familiar.
You’ll often feel like you know a blogger by following them on Twitter and reading their blog posts, but don’t use that as an opportunity to become their best friend – stay professional!
5. Don’t Be Afraid To Revisit Them
Nuturing a relationship takes time. Don’t let weeks of hard work go to waste, by ignoring the blogger after you get your coverage.
Interact with them on their social networks and blogs, and next time you need to push those new products your job will be ten times easier.
6. Don’t Expect A Freebie
There needs to be something in it for both of you. Don’t expect a positive response or any response at all, if you email a blogger asking them to do something for you with nothing in return.
Then again, it’s just as important not to agree on terms without outlining what you are after in return i.e. a link, social coverage, a full review.
7. They Love Products
One of the easiest ways to get coverage from a mummy blogger is to send them a relevant product or free trial of your service.
Why? Bloggers love to write reviews, they get a free product and you get an in depth review of your offering.

8. Offer Affiliate Links
If a parent blogger is unsure whether or not they should cover you, offer an affiliate link to seal the deal.

Bearing in mind that most bloggers will be holding down jobs as well as running full time blogs, don’t bombard them with impatient emails.
Don’t forget they are also full time mums and dads, which means fitting blog posts and replying to emails around nap time.

Although mummy bloggers make up the majority of the parent blogger demographic, don’t forget to approach the daddy bloggers as they have just as dedicated a following as the mums.
